Lake Montepulciano

Situated below the town of Montepulciano and a few kilometres north-west of Lake Chiusi lies Lake Montepulciano formed by the Canale Maestro of the Chiana river which is both a tributary and a distributary. The south-east side of the lake marks the boundary between Tuscany and Umbria while about fifteen kilometres to the east of the lake, lies Lake Trasimeno in Umbria.
