Situated at 756 metres above sea level, Fonte Vetriana is a part of the municipality of Sarteano. This ancient settlement has been used since prehistoric times due to the presence of a spring and the favourable position on the slopes of Mount Cetona. Here, time seems to have stood still and the houses have, in fact, retained their original features. The barns have even been carved out of the rock faces dating back to prehistoric times. From Fonte Vetriana, the top of Mount Cetona can be easily reached on foot by following the road that leads to Pian della Segala.
