The small village of Amorosa is situated on a hill that has been inhabited since Etruscan times. At the beginning of the 20th century, Count Alfredo di Frassineto, the owner at the time of the Amorosa farm, unearthed the ruins of a building with earthenware dating back to the 2nd century BC. The finds were located near a roadway that linked Chiusi to the other important centres in the Valdichiana of the Siena area.
