Parrocchia San Pietro ad Mensulas, Sinalunga

Parish church of San Pietro ad mensulas

Situated in the municipality of Sinalunga, the Romanesque building consists of naves separated by square pillars and a wooden roof, while the original apse of which the inner springer arch can still be seen, has been replaced by a rectangular apse.
Major restoration work was carried out on the façade in the nineteenth century. There is a fresco portraying the Virgin Mary with Child and two saints, in the left nave, the work of a Sienese artist from the late fifteenth century, while there is an Annunciation painted on two separate canvases in the choir stalls.
