View of Ciliano

Historic sources say that Ciliano was owned by the Bargagli noble family who were lords of it from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century until they sold it to the Landucci family.
The municipality of Ciliano was then annexed to Torrita in 1777. Now, when you visit this amazing place, situated between Torrita di Siena and Montepulciano, there are just a few old houses scattered around a central area at the top of a hill which affords a stunning view of the Tuscan countryside.
