Petroio, Piazza Giacomo Matteotti

This charming square lies in the very centre of Petroio, at the point where a perfect spiral consisting of a single, ancient road winds its way around the medieval town. Some of the services used by the community overlook the square. Petroio, a small town in the municipality of Trequanda, surrounded by the Val di Chiana and Val d’Orcia, is famous throughout Italy for its terracotta wares.
