Porta a Sole

Porta al Sole, together with Porta al Leccio provides a gateway into the delightful town of Trequanda, perched on a hill in the Val di Chiana in the Siena countryside. While Porta al Leccio opens out towards the Lecceto woods from which it takes its name, Porta al Sole overlooks the wide, open countryside. As you enter the town, you encounter the majestic castle of the Cacciaconti family with its high white stone tower and crenellated walls.
